Research Topic B
The aim of my Ph.D. project is to investigate arrhythmia mechanisms in AC, by analyzing the relation between structural and electrophysiological myocardial remodeling, and arrhythmia dynamics. This will be pursued using innovative methodologies such as cardiac optogenetics, advanced imaging techniques, and computational modeling. The results of the project will increase the understanding of AC pathogenesis and the computational model developed will aid the translation of preclinical data to the clinic.
I am Induja Perumal Vanaja from Kanniyakumari, the southern tip of India. I am working as a Research Fellow at UNIPD in the labs of Dr. Zaglia and Prof Mongillo, focussing on cardiomyopathies and sudden death. I have a strong passion for research in the field of Cardiovascular Science and Engineering and aim to make a worthwhile contribution in the field. As a Biomedical Engineer, I believe that applying the knowledge I gained in the field of engineering, to the field of biology and medicine will provide a great opportunity for improving healthcare and quality of life.
