Her research project is focused on an Emotional Intelligence training program for children with ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder) from 6 to 12 years old without intellectual disabilities, in order to determine the impact it has on symptoms of depression and anxiety in this population. The general objective is to develop emotional intelligence as a skill in this population in order to find out if it can function as a protective factor against depression and anxiety, which are disorders that are commonly presented in comorbidity with ASD.
Ingrid has a degree in Clinical Psychology from the Instituto Politécnico Nacional in Mexico and a Master of Science in Positive Psychology from the University of Jaén in Spain. In 2018 she did a research exchange at the University of Tours in France to work on a project to understand the cultural differences in children diagnosed with ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder), since then she has been working on issues related to developmental disorders and is co-author of a book on ASD and parenting. She has dedicated the last years to teaching, clinical practice and research.
