Abstract of the proposed UNIPhD research project


Robot manipulation is crucial for industrial tasks like assembling machines, inspecting plants, and moving objects. Conventional robot arms use chains of mechanical parts that exert strong forces and torques on their base. This reduces precision, stability and energy during manipulation.

This project explores dynamic balancing for robot manipulation to develop a novel arm prototype that minimizes these reactions. Through intelligent design and control, the manipulator will have improved performance while completing common industrial tasks.



Short bio

Yash completed his MSc in Robotics, Systems and Control from ETH Zürich. Prior to that, he was in the Qantas Airways Graduate Program, and did a BE(Hons)/BA double degree from the Australian National University majoring in Mechatronics and Chinese.
