Register here and participate in the first UNIPhD Annual Network Meeting, taking place on Friday, 9 June 2023 at the Fiore di Botta Building, in Padua.
The event focuses on “Communicating research” and challenges UNIPhD Fellows to share their project ideas with colleagues from other disciplines and to exchange perspectives and methodologies across fields of knowledge other than their own.
– A poster and a three-minute pitch competition will be at the centre of the day. Winners will be recognized a prize in the final award ceremony.
– International speakers will share their experiences and suggestions on how to best communicate and disseminate research.
The initiative will be a great opportunity for networking and meeting the 39 Fellows recruited on the UNIPhD project, their Supervisors, UNIPhD Governing Bodies and partners, as well as local stakeholders.

Dr. Ana Beloqui is an Assistant Professor and Research Associate from the Belgian Fund forScientific Research (F.R.S.-FNRS) at the Université catholique de Louvain (Brussels, Belgium). DrBeloqui’s main research interest is the investigation of the oral drug delivery route (especially onbiologics). She has received multiple scholarships and prizes, including the Galien Prize 2021 inBelgium, and a prestigious ERC Starting grant. She serves as Associate Editor for the Journal ofControlled Release.

Carla Marchioro holds a Laurea in Chemistry (Hons.) as well as a Nuclear Chemistry Advanced Master in Nuclear Chemistry from the University of Padua and is an Organic Chemist by training with more than 35 years of experience in several areas of R&D in the Pharmaceutical and Fine Chemistry sectors such as Structural Techniques, Analytical Sciences, Informatics, Drug Discovery, Process Research and Development and Manufacturing. Carla is now working at Evotec as VP, Scientific Director to ensure scientific leadership to drug discovery scientists (primarily within UK, France and Italy) comprised of experts in refining and applying in silico tools and cutting-edge computational approaches to creative molecular design, synthesis and analysis to expedite the delivery of higher quality drug candidates.

Lluís Rovira (1968) is Director of CERCA, Institution devoted to coordinate the research activity of the R&D Institutes promoted by the Catalan government. He is PhD on Biology by the University of Barcelona, 1998. One of his main concerns now is the 3rd evaluation of each of the 42 CERCA institutes in Catalonia, through international panels, which will finish at the end of 2024. He is at the same time HRS4R assessor for the European Commission since 2015 and trainer for new assessors.

Massimiliano Zattin is a Full Professor at the Department of Geosciences. Over the past ten years, he has been involved in governance roles such as director of the PhD School and member of the Academic Senate. Since 2021, he has been appointed as Vice Rector for Postgraduate and Doctorate Programmes. He is the author of over one hundred publications in international scientific journals. Main research interests are about quantification of geologic processes and, in particular, the relationships between tectonics, erosion, sedimentation and climate.

Dr. Stepan Kucera (Senior Member, IEEE) received his Ph.D. degree in Informatics from the Graduate School of Informatics at Kyoto University in Japan in 2008. He is currently with Nokia Munich where he serves as 3GPP RAN2 delegate for standardization of 5G NR sidelink, positioning and industrial IoT technologies since Release 17, and research lead for 6G concepts. Between 2011 and 2020, he worked at Nokia Bell Labs as principal researcher and R&D project manager.Several of his award-winning innovations were productized by Nokia and commercially deployed by top-tier customers worldwide as well as demonstrated in industry shows, including low-latency high-reliability multi-connectivity, AI engines for automated design of human-competitive algorithms, and range expansion for co-channel LTE small cells.Stepan (co)-authored over 100 patents, published more than 70 book chapters, transactions, and conference papers in peer-reviewed ACM/IEEE venues, as well as received multiple professional awards, among others Nokia UK&I Top Inventor of All Times, the Hummies Gold Award for Best Human-Competitive Design 2019, Nokia Top Inventor 2018, and the Irish Laboratory Scientist of the Year Award 2018.He also served as a board member, work package leader, primary beneficiary / investigator in large-scale EU research projects totaling 15+ Mil. EUR, such as MINTS, ENLIGHTEM, and ELIOT, as well as founded and managed advanced research projects with six major universities in EU and Japan.
